Let me tell you what I did when we replaced the pump on our 1969 GT500 a few years ago

First you need lots of patience

Second you need a good relationship with your local parts guy.

Did not go to any of the BIG NAME outfits because it is a rare exception that you find a good counter man that really knows what you are talking about.

Also all the specialty sites wanted big dollars for a Shelby (that's really a Mustang) power steering pump.

I went to a long time mom, pop and sons auto parts.

Took my pump off, hauled over to them. They went to several of their parts warehouses and suppliers until they found the right pump with the right color.

They also transferred my pulley on to the remanufactured pump. The total cost, part and labor for transferring the pulley was about $60.

This was about 10 years ago also you have to factor in todays inflation rate.

So I recommend go local and support a small local business.

Best of luck
