For Sale: a pair of 10 X 2 1/2" brake drums. I took these drums to two shops that turn brake drums and both verified they are "in spec" and usable. The dates on the drums are G127 and G117 which translate to July 11 and July 12, 1967. The drums have FoMoCo cast in the rim and are manufactured by Kelsey Hayes. Asking $900 for the pair plus shipping but open offers.
Thanks for your interest.
Calls or texts until 11:00 pm Eastern are fine.  (720). 260-0258.

As my Shelby was build in the last week of LAX I wonder if there was a Shelby that was a Mustang built so late at Ford Motor Company for the Shelby Motor Company in LAX as I think they recieved the brakes at the Ford Motor Company or did Shelby changed them to 2 1/2" in LAX and it was not done by Ford directly when they build the Mustang?

Now a good question which Mustang has the latest build date in San Jose for the 1967 Shelbys?

Hi,
With just a quick check it looks like the date of San Jose build of Mustang cars for the last Shelby was the week starting July 7 and the July dates on these drums put them beyond that....at least for as built correctness. Still possible service replacement parts. Hope this helps.

FYI or for what it is worth date codes are not looked at/relevant in DIV II or MCA Trailered concours venues. About 98% of the well restored concours division cars fall into that category. DIV I and MCA Thoroughbred require correct date codes on everything that is dated for no deduction. With that said once mounted it is hard if not impossible to read the date code on the drums.
