This is not a reproduction wheel. This wheel has all the correct Fomoco and Kelsey Hayes stampings.

just asking as paradise wheels puts these together also with correct centers. I am not versed in this wheel hence the question not to challenge it's validity. Thanks so much for the reply.

Does that make this an old stock rim they used on the line in 65?

I hope the experts will correct me if I am wrong on my answers:

It's my understanding the early 65 used this exact wheel. It's also my understanding the 6" wheel was used on later 65's. I do not know when the change was made. Possibly Craig C. would know. The 5.5" wheel is welded on the back. The 6" wheel is riveted.

The original wheels should have the Fomoco stamp as well as the K-H (Kelsey Hayes) stamp on the face of the wheel. I would also assume the wheels would have a 64/65 date code. The date code cannot be seen when the tire is mounted.

DSO #71-2501 specifies the 5.5" wheel and part number C2AA-1007-E which probably means that the wheel was issued the first time in late 61.
DSO #71-2502 also specified 5.5" wheel. Car number 004-113 used these,
DSO #71-2503 specifies 6" wheels but no car number given but it can be assumed from 114 and up.
The date code I have pictures of for the 6" wheel is 2-65 and it came on a car #in the 170's.
I got the DSO information many years ago from one of the SAAC officers but have forgot from whom.

Check out the small slit of a opening between the center and the rim. It reminds you of a cats eye
