Can you post a picture of the HM serial number stamped into the block?

Bill
The only # is on the pad on side of the Motor. It is a "1" That is all the numbers on the engine. Hope that helps.

Bill

Appreciate the extra pictures, however, in this case, not what I was originally asking about. All Holman and Moody built engines have their own stamp on a pad on the block as shown in my attached picture. When you have time, please check again and if found, attach a picture of yours.

Thanks

Bill...you should mention exactly where the pad is located.  From your photo and the original poster's photo, the pad looks to be located directly under the passenger's side front part of the head, at the top right corner of the cylinder block next where the timing chain cover is...ie where the red arrow in the original poster's photo is pointing to.

Correct, my since apology to the seller for this over-site on my part.

Thanks for pointing it out.

I found the Pad and the # (See Pic attached) It is actually #1.

Here is the other side. It looks like a 6? I have documentation from Holman and Moody that they built the engine about 12 years ago as well as confirmation from the original owner that he bought this motor along with 2 others with his friends "around 3 years after he originally bought his 67 Shelby, so that is all I know. Pic of actual engine in the car when it was pulled out of the Barn. It was sent to Holman and Moody again for the rebuild approx 12 or so years ago.

Also attached documents and letter from Lee Moody himself when he got the motor back to rebuild again. Hope this helps.

Page 2 of the letter with Lee Holman's signature. Hope this helps.

Cool engine in its own right and I wish you the best in selling it however if giving additional value is expected with it been a H+M engine I see a issue. The letter appears to be generic form letter autopen signature or not. Unless I missed something it does not indicate any specific identification means to indicate it is referring to your specific engine. I have seen that form letter a few times before at swap meets and the like. The #1 stamped on the pad does not help IMO and is somewhat meaningless without context. I could put this letter next to yours and another similar equipped 427 and there would be no way to identify which engine the letter was associated with.

Thanks Bob. I think you know the 1967 Shelby GT 500 car #2065 engine came out of. I believe you provided some feedback on this for RJ Cars and Chris Santomaro. I am assuming you can attest to the fact that he had BOTH engines (this and the 428) sent down to Holman and Moody to be built. I can only take the word of the original owner that he said he bought it through them (Holman and Moody) originally, but I DO know that Chris and RJ Cars had this motor built in 2012 at Holman and Moody per the letter from Lee Holman attached above.

You assume incorrectly because I can not attest to that both engines were built at H+M. I was a volunteer long distance advisor for RJ Cars on the 67 Shelby.   Invoice for the engine rebuild by H+M would be the kind documentation that would be relevant IMO.
