Interesting, about the differing vent windows.  Thank you Pete.

(continuing to learn about these...)

Is the big oil pan part of the cooling package?

Is that the correct trunk mat pattern?

Are uneven hood and trunk gaps just a given on (many? most?) '68 Shelbys?

Thank you.

Coralsnake

The oil pan and headers are not stock items

Most 1968 Shelbys had z speckled mat or  a solid  colored felt mat

No the gaps are not a given, however they certainly are different from todays standards

Personally theres not enough information there to make a good education

Thank you.

(I thought I remembered seeing speckled on your survivors page.)

I don't recall reading that it's been restored (just repainted), but doesn't it seem quite clean inside and under the hood for it not to be???

Some underside photos were added.
Do they tell us anything of value?

there are some telling sign on this car that bother me. I asked for certain pics in a message to the seller. I had a friend interested in the car but the seller never took pics of the vin on the block that I asked for days ago which is very easy to do as they are on top right behind the intake. I asked whether the smog heads were on the engine. No response. Unique smog exhaust manifolds . There are 3 features on the interior that bother me. The car needs an expert to go over the car in person. Luke any Shelby you are willing to buy in the 6 figure range you shoyld  do your due diligence. I'm about 1.5 hours from the car but will not be looking at it in person.

To many one of the worst case scenarios is a rebody. Unfortunately it has been done before. Ones  had been done when these cars were not worth much because it was an easier route to go then mass sheet metal replacement from rust or an accident.back decades ago those doing it didn't know what we know now. There are sometimes clues. I like to check the easy areas like in the trunk where the trunk hinges bolt up and see the stamped date codes. They are also on the inner trunk corner pieces. Next is running changes. Pete's excellent site offers a section on running changes. We have seen cars for sale where the factory assembly doesn't match the vin/ build date of the car by the running changes.the shock towers also lend clues as to a possible rebody. That is why to me if you are not a knowledgable ( don't need to be an expert) person on these cars an expert nspection is recommended.this is a good start on knowing more about these cool cars. http://www.thecoralsnake.com/Productionchanges.html

It never ceases to amaze me how many people will bid six digit sums on something they have never seen or inspected. You're better off going to a casino

Are you implying this vehicle is a rebody?
