Suggestions for adhesive to repair early roll bar wrap?

Can anyone give me a suggestion for an appropriate adhesive to fix some loose wrapping on an early roll bar?  It's just pulling away in a few places but I don't want to use something too strong in case it has to be removed at some point in the future.
Thanks,

3M makes a spray adhesive that you may be able to spray in a container and quickly brush on. It holds really well when sprayed on but dries pretty quick and I have never tried to brush on. May be worth a try.

I have always used the yellow contact cement. The trick is to apply it to both surfaces and then let them start to set up 3 or 4 minutes before trying to apply . It will typically stick together with resolve but not so terribly strong that it can't be persuaded to separate if you have to.
