Is the PCV configuration same on 69 and 70 GT500 automatic cars ?  Checking to see if anything pcv-related was changed during the re-VIN.

Thanks as always.

You are very welcome. I am all over the place, trying like hell, to play catch-up. That is not quite possible, the way I imply it, but I'm trying to learn at least a few new things each week. I need to buy an owners manual and a shop repair manual, too.

A set of assemblyline manuals? I think the field service manual will do a good enough job breaking my brain! Ok, I'll add them to the list of must-haves. Hmm . .

The service manuals(set of 6 including Shelby supplement) are geared to tell in writing how to fix something that is broken on a variety of different Ford products. There are a minimal amount of illustrations relative to the assemblyline manuals.  The 69 Mustang assemblyline manual set (available from all larger Mustang vendors) are specific to 69 Mustang and illustrate what the parts look like , how they are attached to the car ,what fasteners used ,and what the finish is on the fasteners.

What a great restoration reference. So, I should get the set of 6, plus the owners manuals.

Keep in mind that a 70 Shelby is a re badged 69 model when ordering manuals . With that said you should get the shop manual set, the assemblyline manual set and the owners manual if you are going to be a informed 69/70 Shelby owner IMHO.

Owners manual will help with operational (how to I make the wipers work sort of thing) things and were part of the car when new but they won't be much help in restoring.

As far as assembly manual remember or consider the manual show how Ford wanted the cars to be built on the day that the page (each one is dated) was produced and released to the assembly line. Things and details changed during the year (read new pages drawn and released) and workers and plants often did things a little differently than Ford wanted to fit their needs, layout of the plant, equipment available as well as the human factor

They are a good start just compare original unrestored cars also equipped like yours, built around the same time and even consider Mustangs built the same for some of the details

Ok, all good advice. I didn't know about the dating of pages and that they would/could change during production, human factor, etc. I'll buy them sometime before I get my first Shelby.
