Hi Kranky, umm no new Miles Cobra entries but may i make a point with the 1963 Goodwood T.T. I think Jack Sears was down to race the Cobra but ended up racing an Jaguar E Type. Ken practiced in the Cobra and was going to race it but the scrutineers put paid to that. There is a picture in Trevor Legates "Cobra" book of Miles with his Cobra being looked over. If Ken Miles practiced in a car, thats good enough for me to have a model of that car in my collection.

Thanks Rich and Paul...yes, Ken did do some Cobra testing at the Goodwood TT as did Jack (he didn't like the Cobra at the time and the Jaguar was an easier car to drive at that point)....both of the Cobras were not allowed to race due to technical issues in the front suspension areas (I think it had to due with clearance issues with the tie rods and the wheels (Dunlop wheels might have had a deeper inside offset than a Halibrand (don't know the answer to that one)).  Now I have to get around re-posting all of the other results again (Drag racing, Slalom/Autocross, etc.).

Got a question, Le Mans 1965. Did Ken Miles take Cobra Daytona CSX2286 out in the warm up. I read on another website that he took the car out before Gurney and Grant raced it. Am i right in saying CSX2286 was built shortly before the race so it makes sense that Miles took it out to see if the car was ok. Paul

Kranky,
I don't recognize the track, since it's mixed classes I assume it a local or regional race?

With the AMX / Javlin I would thing no sooner than 1968.

#18 has unique side pipes & it's A/P so a street / semi comp CSX3xxx car converted to race?

Any ideas as to race & car ID's?

thanks

Wow, ok what do you see that tell you it's Watkins Glen.
I know the pit lane is on the right side of the track with the direction of the starting grid, but there's not enough background for me to tell.

To Honker, Richstang, 6R07mi:

The photo is the August 1969 Watkins Glen National grid (slightly sloping down hill).  #18 is John Paul (3125), #20 is Sam Feinstein (3160), #46 is Gene Fisher (3026-the blue nose is on the edge of the photo).....I don't know off hand the drivers of the other cars, #43 (1969 Camaro), #56 (1968 Camaro-Gulf sponsor?-currently up for sale in Europe), #60 (1968 AMX), #? (1967, light blue Camaro).

To Paul:

I'll have to dig in to my records for any commentary on Ken Miles testing of 2286 at the '65 Le Mans.....it will take a while since my files are not organized.
