ePay intake and carbs correct?

Can anyone tell me if ePay item number 263905687390 is an original intake and carb set up for  67 GT500?  It may even be a fellow members here but I figured I would ask for people wiser than me to point out what's correct or not. My set-up is kind of a mess and figured maybe I would buy a nice original set-up if the price was right. This is for a driver not a how car but it would be nice to be close to correct

What is there looks factory correct as you requested confirmation for with the exception of a few odd plugs ,fuel hose and a few screw clamps. I can't tell if fuel log is genuine or not given the pictures . The main thing that stands out is that one of the carb tags is missing and so is the automatic choke for the front carb. Seller is a forum member although we do not hear enough from him .

What date is 6o4 at that carbs,early GT500? I have 2 carbs in my garage that have date code 991 for C3AF-9510BK List2804. Did Holley made it for another cars or was it normal stock items? Erik

991 date on a BK carb would indicate a later made service replacement.They were listed in Fords Perfomance catalogs like the Muscle parts catalog.There are many other examples of early Shelby carbs with later dates that verify they were on the Ford parts shelves for replacement use.

Please reread post #4 . In this case 6 zero 4. There are many other examples of other carburetors earlier then ones used on 67 Shelby with dates like 991 (1st week of Sept 1969) which simply indicated a later produced service replacement carb. Yes sometimes letters where used in the code

The second digit is the month. 1-9 for Jan-Sep, 0 is Oct, A is Nov and B is Dec. from what I remember.

Holley® Carburetor Date Codes


Part I  O.E.M. Carburetor Date Codes

O.E.M. models, O.E.M. assembly line models, utilize a three digit date code; numbers or numbers and letters are stamped just below the Holley "List" number on the front face of the choke housing air horn. (Service assemblies set aside during production for making cars will have dates in the production time frame.)

Example:      List - 3259
                    4 B 5

The first digit signifies the year the carburetor was manufactured, 1964 in this example.

The second digit represents the calendar month of production, in our example December. The table below details the complete set of twelve month codes.

   II Service Replacement Carburetor Date Codes

Service replacement carburetors, those available over the counter years later at O.E.M. dealers, speed shops, auto parts stores, etc, utilize a four digit date code; numbers only appear in this case, stamped in the same location as before under the "List" number. The service unit codes are expresses as "Julian" dates with the model year of manufacture indicated by the additional and last of the string fourth digit. The Julian date codes table for service models is given below.

As an example of a service replacement carburetor lets examine a current Ford Motorsports Boss 429 replacement unit.

   List - 4647
             2916   

This carburetor is definitely a service model since it has a four digit date code. The fourth digit signifies 1986 (It was purchased from Ford in early 1988.). The Julian date indicates that it was manufactured during October. Even though this carb "looks" original on the BOSS 429 engine it occupies, it can not be "original" for a 1969 model car when it was not manufactured until October 1986.


The List-2804 and List-2805 assemblies have wide possibilities for dates as they were a) used on several types of new cars, b) used for more than one model year, and c) used in racing also.

These two models were introduced as a running change during the 1963 model year run of 427 Galaxie 8V engines and were used through the 1967 model year. They were standard equipment on:
- part of the 1963 model year for Ford Galaxies with  427 8V engines
- 1964 model year Galaxie 427 8V engines
- 1965 model year Galaxie 427 8V engines
- 1966 model year CSX31xx 427 Cobras with 8V engines
- 1967 race season Group II 289 race engines in Shelby American Group II Mustang racers
- 1967 model year GT500s with 428 8V engines

There were lots of them installed on new engines over several years. They also seemed to be a popular over the counter offering at least through 1970. The only trick seems to be finding great cores of a particular date time frame with their original dated assembly tags intact.

I have two BK's with the same part number as above ones but the code is 873 on both - so maybe 3rd week of July 1968 so maybe replacement carbs for something?

It is more then a "maybe" that the carbs are replacements. I can't think of another explanation given the dates.

Hi Jeff,
You are welcome. I didn't see an accessible forum category for general technical details. There is read only library heading but I didn't see anything in it and it is read only.

As a word of caution just knowing basically how things were done isn't enough to guard against all the ways all but the most cautious can be misled.  What do I mean? It is possible to get almost anything rare and desirable recreated in some manner.
