Any info on this car ? I looked in my 4th edition registry, I most likely missed it  ::)

Is it is still owned by Gerald Scheberies ? the info I found says it was sold new to Johannesberg ?? came back to England ?? and I

think Rod Leach had it at some point ? Don't know how correct this is ? ?

(NOTE ! ! all the question marks, don't want some one reading this and then it becomes gospel  ;)

Thanks Ned, I wasn't exactly sure of the protocol for the numbers, even though the cars were [more or less] on public display.

Here's one from today, of CSX2367.  I've been struggling with brake pedal firmness, and normal bleeding didn't help.
If you look at my list of non-Cobra's you have to figure I've bled plenty of Girling brakes. A Series one Etype is always a challenge and don't ask about 1971 Mercedes systems.  While my wife Lori is an experienced brake pedal pumper, I've always done well with a pressure bleeder (my Motive Power Bleed canister  and my fabricated Master Cyl cap are in these pictures) , but always with some concern about a fitting blowing loose and spraying brake fluid all over...
So....it's now working great.   Spring is coming in Michigan, now we just need to get this virus stuff behind us.
As tends to happen, I probably caused this brake bleed problem myself.   I had replaced the plated caps on the reservoirs and left the seals in them as-received.  The rubber seals weren't vented.  They are now.   Dave

For Honker: (Post #92) The car pictured is COB 6113, a right-hand-drive "AC 289 Sports." And yes, it is still owned by Gerry Scheberies. You'll find data for it and every other coil-spring Cobra, as well as photos for almost all of them, in SAAC's soon-to-be-released Coil Spring Cobra Registry.

Cobra Ned, thanks for the info Scheberies Car, and I now found it in my 4th edition registry  ::) duh ! ! mind you I was looking by

name and  he isn't listed.

I was looking originally on line  for info on the A.C. Mongoose (also a Scheberies car) and the info in the link came up, which put

me on another search  ;)

Another one I found from a later Mid-America meet in Tulsa...circa 2011.

CSX2557 at Elkhart Lake, June '66. I'm not sure about the engine shot, but it was in the same set of photos.

How many other Cobras had the double exhaust ? Was it like that on both sides ? What was the advantage to that set up ?

Mike

Cobra Ned

That was the only one with that particular exhaust setup. And it was on both sides.

At the Bridgehampton Double 500 on September 20, 1964....several Cobras sprouted the "double exhaust" configuration: 2513, 2290, 2558 and 2557.  2430, Tom Payne's Cobra, ran the same exhaust in 1965....at least during the Mosport Players 200.  The reasoning behind the dual side exhaust (just a guess here)...might of had to do with what Shelby American had learned from testing the Daytona Coupe and it's version of the dual exhaust as in relation to high speed tracks (better breathing at higher RPM's?).  Unfortunately, I don't have any under hood shots of the headers, but I could guess that the double side exhaust featured 2-1 split headers (Daytona Coupe style) instead of the standard 4-1 headers that were used on most competition Cobras.
