This is the 3rd balancer ive seen like this .  all came on original hipo engines Ive pulled apart to rebuild.  I had one customer tell me  it was on his car since new.  Looking at the date code  November   id say 76  not 66.  maybe they serviced the part this way much as they serviced the GT500 MR Balancers with the C5  ground and and restamped.  The shaped of this balancer is the same as the C8ZE  wwhich was C5OZ-6316-B as a service part

Service part, these were not production line parts. It looks like someone tried to over stamp the C8ZE part number with a "7" and then got frustrated and tried to obliterate the modification.

The center casting was originally marked C5OE A.  The 5 and the O were hammered out and restamped with 7 and Z   creating a C7ZE A.
The outer ring is the 68 style with the step at the back and with a wider inner diameter at the front to allow for fitting the larger 3 gang A/C pulley first used on 67 HiPO.   The L6 is indeed Nov. 66.  This is original production part.
It seems Ford used existing C5OE centers to produce the very few balancers needed for AC equipped HiPo motors in 1967.   By 68 production the center casting changed to a C8ZE A which also became the default service part.
If you try to fit an original 67 A/C crank pulley to the C5OE balancer you will see that it will not fit or will fit so tight as to bind on the outer ring.
Kurt.

(My 67 350 with A/C came with this exact restamped damper).

Absolutely correct , '67 hipo with A/C only . As stated by 67350#1242, The '67 a/c pulley would not fit  in the C50E dampner so a new outer ring was made to allow it. Since this was an alteration to a production part but a very small quantity , the casting number was removed and re stamped. Plans were in place for a "hi po 302" for '68 ( dropped for the also dropped 302 street tunnel port) manufacturing changed the blueprint to effect the changes. The casting number was changed to C8ZE to reflect the updated part.  Since neither of the intended use engines were produced , the dampners were sold over the counter.

Add one more to the list, I picked one up at a swap meet with a HP crankshaft about a year ago.
