I spotted CSX 2095 on eBay today, and it got me thinking.  What does everyone think is the most attractive color combinations for an original small block Cobra?  2095 is currently black with a red interior, although if I'm reading the registry right, it used to be reversed when it left SA. I know this is an incredibly subjective question, but it's fun to hear what true Shelby fans think.

Second, does it not seem to be as big a deal to have a color changed Cobra as compared to a 65-70 Shelby GT350/GT500?  Is that because of rarity?

LOVE red interiors. I would much prefer as pictured.

Big dollar Ferraris seem to do just fine with color changes too. Saw (Sotheby's on TV) a color changed 250 California sell for $12M. Color change never discussed.

For me, I think certain colors show off the body lines better than others. I prefer the darker colors, the only exception would be Princess blue, with Red being my least favorite.

At the SAAC convention at Elkhart Lake, there was a dark green Cobra with saddle (tan) interior. One day it was parallel parked on the street with all the daily commuters in town by a restaurant. It just made you stop still and gape, gorgeous.

And at the SAAC convention in Indy there was a very bright red Cobra that won People's Choice or Best Cobra that I kept going back to look at over and over.

I agree with Steven, that Princess Blue/Red would dictate a color change.

All a matter of taste. For a 289 car, my favorite color combination is Princess Blue with Red interior.  I rember reading in Colin Comer's Cobra book that combination is his favorite also.  The dark colors, Black and Dark Green seem to hide the lines of the car.  I think Red was the most common Cobra color.

Calling it princess blue was a mistake.  Love the color, hate the name.

Why am I having doubts that this is an original 289?
