This is another post I'll attempt to re-create after it was lost in the crash of SAAC Forum 1.0

As most of you guys know this was the car previously purchased, restored and raced by Rick Kopec after he (if I remember correctly) Rick was tipped off that this car was in Canada in the early 80's. I'm sure he or someone can fill in the blanks. Anyway, Rick vintage raced it since the late 80's. Rick Kopec ended up selling it to Marty Beaulieu.

At the time when I photographed 5R098 (Nov 2012), it was in the building of one of our NorCal SAAC meeting events, I was VP of NorCal at the time. Marty B was attending as was Drew Serb who brought CSX3022 (I'll post CSX3022 separately). Marty opened up 5R098 for everyone to take a peek.

Enjoy the pics.

Cheers,
~Earl J

The second image is the passenger side inner fender. I thought that was interesting if you know what I'm talking about.

Someone on the forum asked recently requesting the seeing mounting tabs for the R model radiator. There you are.

This is not a concourse car. This is currently (at the time of the photo) a race car. So the pieces you see...

The same can be said about the front and rear suspension. This is a race car. I did notice the welded in reinforcement plate above the rear top shock absorber and heim joints on the links.

One of my SAAC highlights...riding in that car with Rick for a couple laps at speed on Charlotte
Motor Speedway...PRICELESS! Thanks again, Rick!

I remember a ride in the Essex back in Watkins Glen in 1993. Amazing machine! Thank you Rick.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"
