Hi All,
Just a quick note to add 0017 to the list also. After looking at this list maybe someone should ask if anyone has seen or got pictures of a G.T.500 with a flat cap that was built prior to Jan 1967.
We know of only 2 well documented ones to this point.....any others known ???  Still looks like they made less than 90 as a total.Cut off date seems to be early January 1967 for all cars.
Regards R.R.
My GT500 is less than 15 before you and It was convex with NO upper scoop lamps.

Eight Barrel,
I think RR has car #0024. Is you car really a lower number than that with out these features?
If you don't want to share the number can you tell us when was it built?

Hello Rich,

Keith (1967 eight barrel) states on another thread that his car is a November 1966 GT500.  According to the registry, it must be 0171.  It is the only GT500 in addition to 0100, 0131, and 0139 that has Ford build date in November 1966.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

If it is #171, having a 1/19/67 SA completion date would certainly put it outside the range for a flat gas cap or the upper scoop lights.

Thanks,
Rich

Hello Rich,

I have attached a crisp photo of the rear end of car number 0050.  I believe this photo is probably one of very few if not the only clearly legible original color photo of a production flat gas cap and emblem in existence today.

Best regards,
Eric

Hi 67 Fans,
Just a few comments-0017 should be on this list. Also I am thinking 0003 was built with a flat cap and it was changed along with much of the interior to look more 1968.
Would like to also ask if anyone out there knows of any cars on the following list as the owners are in the registry but have not been to any conventions/shows recently.
0007-0049-0053-0059-0060-0065-0072-0075. And the 2 cars that are real different would be Lowells and 0176 both really not part of Shelbys official count of 1967 production.
Thanks in advance R.R.

R.R,

#00017 appeared to have a curved gas cap emblem in a older photo. I left it off the list until we get more info about it.
It likely was built with a flat emblem, especially with an October completion date.

I have not seen any current photos of any of the cars you requested;
#00059 was sold some time back and I was not able to grab the large photo versions. The ad is still available, but it does not shows any back views.

#00060 was posted on the forum some time back, in an old photo.
It showed the flat tail panel was replaced with a raised panel version and it had a curved gas cap emblem at that time.

Hopefully someone with one of these cars will see your request and respond with updates.

The photos I've seen of #59 do not show the rear of the car, don't have anything on the rest.

It did. No replacements available when I got into the restoration as well.

We haven't talked about flat gas cap emblems in a long time. So...
Anyone know a car that had one and is not on our page one list?
