I picked up a NOS antenna and I am not sure what it exactly is but looks like a 69-70 Shelby one. It came in a Ford box that said one antenna kit with no part number but someone wrote C5AZ-J in magic marker.

On the base, it has WARD and the number 7-156 above Ward and opposite side of Ward is PAT.PEND.

The cable is close to 200" long but I do not see any markings on the cable.

I will attach some pictures.  Can anyone tell me if this is a Shelby antenna and if not, any idea what it belongs to.

Thanks for any help you can provide.....Greg.

I believe the 1969 screws into the antenna

Does the direction sheet list any part numbers?

Not a Shelby  -  its a universal trunk mount sold by Ford.  proper antenna has screw in lead and a C9ZZ  prefix  with a PM300 Id logo on the base

The directions have Antenna assy,Radio and 18828 below.

In the bottom right corner it says Universal Application, below that is  I.S. 1963 and below that is Installation-Kit-Antenna Radio-Rear.

The paper also has a Rotunda symbol on it.

Jim, you are correct, it does have Universal Application.

A correct 69 Shelby antenna will have PM300 on the bottom section.

Marcus guide says the lead wire is routed through passenger side. Right side ? Is this lead factory or dealer installed ?

Yes passenger/right side is were the antenna wire is typically run.  I would venture to say that the antenna lead was run by the factory and the antenna left to the dealer to install. With that said the antenna wire is not that hard to run so it too may have been installed by the dealer. Given the antenna's were dealer installed it is always fun to see a row of 69/70 Shelby's together. If you are lucky enough to have them parked in a line to sight down the row of antenna's to see the subtle different foreword and back to each other locations that the antenna's were installed. You hardly ever see two in exactly the same location.

I think maybe the dealer installed the antenna lead since #2060 had the lead on the drivers side. An anomaly or dealer's choice?

The 1969 Shelby antenna cable was installed at AO Smith during the conversion process. It is in the 1969 asssembly manual. A template was included with the car for mounting the antenna.
