Looks to me like the film was under-cranked (speeded-up) a bit, as I can't imagine those cars (except for the Cobra, of course!) powering out of that turn and up the hill so quickly.

Trees surrounding a narrow cambered road!  Obviously safety wasn't very evolved.  I loved racing "back in the day" but when I think back of the telephone poles and fire hydrants at Santa Barbara and the ditches and barbed wire at Cotati, I feel lucky.

That looks like a first generation 289 Comp car. That's the way those cars had the fenders "flared". Roll bar isn't factory style though.

Perhaps Mr.Scudder will weigh in with a CSX number? I didn't catch the steering wheel or if it had vents in the front fenders. That would give a hint as to a 2000 or a 2100 car?

Could these have been from Ed Hugus' shop?

Definitely a lot of tail waggin' going on.

I've been to the resurrected event a couple of times, that "road" is still very narrow and the trees are very close - just like it looks in the video. I can't find a link or anything, but Merlin Miller set a then-new record with his [not] vintage [GT2/hillclimb]  Tiger in 2002.

I didn't notice the blue Cobra first time through. Yes. No vents on either. I don't know enough of early Cobra racing to comment on either car.

The blue car does not have wire wheels so someone with Cobra racing knowledge was running it.

I'll have to go back and look at the red one for wheels.

Cobra Ned is going to be the man on identifying those cars I think?

Yes, pretty exotic piece at a PA hill climb and the Jag with 63 on it looked brand new.  (Sound would be fun but beggars can't be choosers thanks Rich)

Good catch on the second blue Cobra with the #73.
I think both Cobra's have wire wheels and no side vents as mentioned.

Checking Kranky's Hill Climb race list does not show this event results for '64 or '65.

The blue car was an AC Ace/ Bristol, not a Cobra. The red Cobra is an early car without sidevents. Movies are tough to work with, because it's tough to focus in on specific items. It's my belief this film has been posted here previously and the best we could do is guess what car it may have been.

It's digitally enhanced but it's still an 8mm film. That considered, it's of remarkable quality but still not clear enough for ME to catch the details, even in freeze frame.

I keep thinking of the Zapruder film and there is just so much you can get out of 8mm film.
