Hipo engine on Craigs List

Has anyone checked this out yet to see if it's a long lost block to a Shelby?  I can't make out the date or the VIN for that matter.

$7500.00firm this engine is a real289 hipo engine. I painted it 1966 ford blue cause I didn't like original color for 1965 which would be black. It has I think a 66 date code on block with a 65 car vin# I don't know why ???but ford must have stamped it and used it. It's a genuine HIPO 289 engine and was professionally machined and rebuilt.

Agree, the last few times I have asked Howard about Vin's they have not been Shelby engines but he graciously checks hoping we have found a lost one. Seller need to clean it up and privately email him

Seen this one the other day.  Says it's a Shelby hipo. Wonder if he knows about the stamped VIN and where to look?
