Was listed on Ebay, May 2018, in Trenton, New Jersey. 66,768 miles.  Most of the body metal was replaced, and the rusty, almost totally faded Shelby VIN plate
was included. It may be a fair price, and looks like a good project for someone.

I don't see it as a good deal. The market has never been as strong as the 65-67 cars and you'd be in this an additional 75K plus to do it well. That's doing much of it yourself.
The car has been around for a long time. I think someone else finally saw it for the money pit it is and decided to pass it on, once again.

Its not a good deal and to do even a decent resto you would be well under water- but- I actually emailed them and asked a few questions. For me if I can get into a Shelby restoration project and spread out the costs over years and have some fun during the journey then I may be interested.

Coral Snake obviously knows these cars way better than I but I don't think one would be underwater at this price.  Looks like a great start for someone to bring this one back.

Without seeing it in person I think it has potential. If most parts are there and useable it becomes a better deal. If the key parts to make it complete are missing then that is another story. Lately all you need to do is primer it black,pile straw and chicken crap on it,let air out of tires and call it "barn find" and someone will step up and over pay 
If it was mine I would want more for it! Show me another one for sale for under $50K

That is a very reasonable statement and certainly the only way it would "work."
If someone can have full transparency on the car and enjoy the journey it might work.
Assuming it's got the VINs in the right places.

The price doesn't matter where it starts if you're in it over a complete restored vehicle. I just went though this on my 1967. Doing everything but paint I am in it over 100. Remember, that's doing complete disassembly, doing 99% of all labor involved and for most of us it takes several years.  I remember seeing this vehicle and there wasn't much decent sheet metal when it was on Ebay.
It was a rust bucket. I don't see it as a good investment.

So I finally got a response from this ad. In fact I received two of the exact messages from a "Brent Wiley".   In the response he is of course working at the US embassy in Baghdad, wont be available until August and the car is "ready for the road".  Obviously this was scam.  It was worth looking into but I guess my hopes of a 30k 68 Shelby project have been dashed!!  Maybe he can get me a deal on a tank

Read the signs. A lot of the US roads can't handle the weight. You can sort of avoid the roads here but you need the bridges. Here in the NE tanks are tough to use.  Very restricting geography. Better to call in an air strike. That' what I did.

Plus you can hear and feel them coming for miles. Leaves plenty of time to ambush.

They're really for open country like west of the Mississippi River although they would help when someone steals your parking space. I like the flame thrower feature for close in.
