Is CSX2287 on the gas or on the brakes here?

I don't know but I love the guy with a stick pointing at the arrow sign. Seems necessary?

Wasn't uncommon to have a switch that would disable the brake lights to mislead your competitors.

Yes, but to be effective it was usually both (all) brake lights...

Better yet, hook it up to the throttle linkage.   Full throttle = brake lights.

Nice photo Kieth.

In this video at the Simone Museum, in the back lot, you can see the two lower lights are the brake lights. (most obvious at the 2:08 mark)

Excellent work Rich, mystery solved.

That 1964 Pete Lyons photo with a rare color rear view of 2287 was a real treat for me to stumble across recently. It was in a 2012 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion program that I borrowed from Jim Cowles.

Thanks for the Detective work!

I could only imagine seeing a Cobra Daytona coupe reeling in a GTO Ferrari- both going 10/10ths! WOW! Probably a cool $75mill in that pic
