Hi guys,
Have a couple of questions for you:
Just vent through the 1965 SA Parts list and found something I didn't know. Listed is
a clamp for the hoses going through the floor board from the Cobra Vent Caps.
Listed on page 58 is this clamp with article number S1MS-10721-A. Does anybody know if this clamp was used
in production and do you have a picture or other information about it?
The hoses are listed as S1MS-10720-A. Does anybody have an original to measure the hose, outside diameter, inside diameter
and length?
Thanks for any help.

I have clamps on my original Cobra caps but original/correct and the clamp you are looking for...? They have been in a box since '72. I will try to load some pictures later, but these are just a 3 tab spring clamp, like a fuel line clamp but for 3/8" line. If you want PM me and I will send picture that way. Regards

Thanks,
Sent you a personal message with my email address.

It would be a good idea to post a picture for others to see.

Picture of clamps on 3/8" hose. Wonder if the Corvette's used similar or any?

The later/reproduction clamps have round edges vs. the square edges. I think Dead Nuts On sells originals.

For fuel line applications (later than 65-66) its the reverse (68-7 for example). Sharp square corners were original while the rounded corners were safer and came on much later years and in reproductions

Not only is the clamp incorrect (later version) . The Battery appears to be the incorrect later version as well. That battery style in the picture typically has screw in caps . The battery used with the Cobra vent cap was a push in cap.The battery used was a odd obsolete battery that had reverse posts from what a typical Mustang battery had.  Shelby bought them in a bulk purchase according to a memo that Howard posted before the crash. Unfortunately the last time I asked for a copy he said he couldn't find it. Maybe someone here made a copy? The individual vented caps were held in the Cobra Vent Cap enclosure and the bottom and top half snapped together. This was so all of the individual vented caps could be vented together and the fumes routed through the hose.

Howard couldn't find it? We are doomed!
Owned since 1971, NOW DRIVEN OVER 250,000 MILES, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

Here is a picture of an original vent cap. Also, Howard had an order from, I believe, H+H Plastics, for 400 Vent caps.

The battery invoice that Howard had posted previously mentioned Prestolite which is what evolved into Autolite.
