Some more info, if you  read through I says the car was bought from an American who raced it in '67 in a number of Trans-Am

races, also it says a couple of times the car is destroyed and sold for spare parts tried to high light the parts but can't seem to do it

I wonder ? is this the same Gagnon Spring  car shown above in this thread at St. Jovite 1968 , here at Sebring

earlier in  '68 ?

Maybe there are some features visible that would help to identify it as a Shelby built '67 Group 11 car ? ?

My photo taken at the '68 Trans-Am race at St. Jovite, Quebec of the Gagnon Spring Mustang.

Some one on another forum asked me if this is one of the Shelby built cars ? I'm thinking not ?  Any one know ?

Thanks, Mike

bump: As far as I know this car is no longer, just trying to find out if this Gagnon Spring car in '68 was one of the Shelby built '67

Group 11 notchbacks ?

In the 2011 '65-'66-'67  registry, I read through the histories of all '67 Group 11 cars, there are a lot of holes, and found no

mention of a car coming to Canada.

Are there any updates since  2011 concerning the histories of these Mustangs ? Where there any articles in the Shelby American

that are archived that I could look up ?

Some more information has come to light  concerning the  Gagnon Spring '67 Mustang shown above.

I was contacted by Greg Kolasa, author with Chuck Cantwell of the book "Shelby Mustang GT350" in regards the Gagnon Spring

car. They are doing some research on the '67 Shelby Grp.11 cars.

The info came in a round about way after inquiries by Kolasa,  from some one  in Quebec, Canada, through Jon Mello who is on the

Camaros.org site. Even those Chevy guys are interested in the competition  ;)

I've include some more images of the car, raced by Steve Brownstein in '67,  a couple from the unofficial '67 Trans-Am race  at St.

Jovite in Quebec, where he crashed. quite a few teams were drawn to that race, the prize money was high, $25,000.

And one from the rear, I believe to be Lime Rock, Brownstein was sponsored by Schnurmacher Ford, Hewlett, N.Y. on Long Island,

were they a Shelby dealer ? He only did a couple of the official  '67 Trans-Am races.

Also an image of  the info that came out of  Quebec.

It seems that this car was one of the Shelby built '67 Grp. 11 cars.

That's very interesting photo.  I have no guess, except maybe a Ford Motor Company lighting test.  Why at Daytona and not at the Proving Grounds?
A ha, I do now have a guess:  A test mule for lighting setups for a Daytona race car.  That makes the most sense to me.  That needed to be done at Daytona.
Yes - DOT had strict lighting rules that were developed and tested in the lab. Europe had a lot better lighting than the US - halogen, better lenses, etc.
When we were doing 24 hours races we got a great tip. Don't adjust the lights so the right lights the right side of the track but cross them so the left lights the right and vice versa with them crossing they also light the area of the track in front of the car.

Is this thread only for vintage Shelby images, or can other Fords be included ?

Here's a shot of the H&M Challenger, in a promo for Sebring 1963.

Anybody noticed the Cobra in the Coke TV commercial from 1967?

Also some shots of Jim Hall driving his Chaparral plus a closeup of him taking a swig.

Found it on YouTube.

Here is a photo plus caption from my Spring 1969 issue of Stock Car Racing magazine and their coverage of that years 24 Hours of Daytona.

Guess Bud couldn't find someone to fill Cooper's seat so the BME Cougar didn't start the race.
