What in Sam Hill...a honest car saleman...wonders never cease !
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. ~

Was that the car dealer that Johnny Carson used to mention
in his monologues?

That is great!  Undoubtedly a blooper reel type of thing, but hilarious none the less.

Ralph Williams was infamous in SoCal for his fast-talking style.  He and Cal Worthington ruled afternoon and weekend local TV advertising.

As Johnny Carson's car salesman character would say: "To get here, take the Slauson Cutoff. Then get out of your car, cut off your slauson, get back in and drive to the dealer!"

Now that was funny!  Never saw this one before.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I got new respect for Cal one day. Channel 13 was one of my accounts. I was there while he was filming his commercials. They were green screened and he'd show up with a couple tranporters full of cars. One of them wouldn't start and the crew offered to just push it into the studio. He said no if it doesn't run it won't be in my commercial.
If you wanted real SoCal crooks you had to go no further than the Yakel Bros. I think they even did time.
