I'm enjoying following the dialog on this auction, given the history behind it. I expect the selling price to be much higher, truthfully I hope the current owner of #2128 ends up with it.

Interesting artifact. Amusing how last bid as I read it at this moment in time has the number 289 in it.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I bet someone will eventually bid 2128 also.  :) Gary

I'm liking that door!  Great wall art!  But ultimately, better reunited with the original car.

This door for CSX3052 sold a couple months ago.  I tried to get car owner and seller together, but I don't think they came together.

Do you know if it is it the same guy selling the deck lid?

I don't think so.  The door was in Portland, OR and it looks like the deck lid is in Laguna Niguel, California.

Sounds like it's ultimately headed to the Shelby American collection in Co. to join the rest of CSX2128.    8)

And of all people Allen Grant bid 2128. That sure was fitting. Gary

honker

I would agree with deathsled on the price WOW ! but consider the history of that piece ! Is this 2128 at Bridgehampton in '64 ?

from the registry it says that 2128 was last raced by S.A in June '64, then sold to Harrison in August  '64, this photo is 3 races

later, did Shelby offer support like this to private owners after the cars were sold ?
