Guys,
I will soon be needing to transport my '66 Hertz Car from California to Florida.
Any recommendations for a reputable transport company?

Thanks,

Intercity, Plycar and Horseless Carriage would be your best, most reasonable options.

Reliable is the only company I use... And I have used them all  8)

Thanks all for your recommendations.
I have heard of "Reliable" and others, just wasn't sure about their reputations.
Thanks again,

Jimbo,
I use Intercity. My comfort zone with those folks is sky high. My car went from the SF Bay Area (CA) to my other home in NY twice. And twice I used Intercity. The ride was about $2500 each way.
Their drivers are super careful. The last time it went with a few cars from Monterey (Rolex Reunion) 1 Ferrari and 2 Lamborghini's. I'd use them again.

2nd &3rd, arriving in NY
Of course I was present at the time.

Reliable Auto Transport (Orange Trucks), hands down.
Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.

I've used mostly Reliable, but also InterCity, Horseless Carriage and a few others I can't remember.

I've had good experiences with all of them. I'm guess I'm probably lucky, with all the cars I've shipped/received over the decades. Never had any damage, or had to file a claim.

A company I most recently used (after all the big companies were booked up with the BJ auction) is Image Auto Group (702/278-9304). Mark Phillips is the owner. They are a small organization, but have nice 18-wheeler rigs (at least the one that delivered my car was) and are based in Las Vegas.  I asked specifically, and they do NOT ever broker out loads to other carriers.  They also put my car in the nose of the trailer, and it stayed there all they way until it got to my house....about 1800 miles. I realize that's not always possible, but I requested it, and they fulfilled my need.

I've worked with Chris at www.discountautotransport.com for close to 10 years.
He's helped move over 100 vehicles for me, family and friends.
We've done both open haulers and enclosed...long hauls and short.
Yes he is a broker but he's also a long time Mustang fan and owner.

Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

you talk to the people who are handling  your car  / no brokers

I've always talked to the driver directly.
Most think all brokers are bad....hasn't been my case and I've moved everything from rotted rollers to Shelbys.
Many on here have deep pockets so if they want to spend $2500 to move their Shelby cross country, fine.
As this thread has shown many have used different means for transporting with success.  We're all just sharing our good experiences and opinions.
