VIN on Trans in 66?

When they got crates of them from Borg Warner how were they identified so they didn't get attached to a C or A code motor in the sub assembly area?         I didn't work at the assembly plant but have had conversations with some that were there. Issues like you are imagining wouldn't happen because specific paper orders or "materials requests" spelled out all of the components to be used. Tags ( often green) were wired onto various parts that were special. This included the "non standard " differential assembly , Export brace, Koni shocks. I can't answer how they were "stocked" prior to assembly but it worked. I'm sure Quality Control inspection was carefully done because of the special order nature of these cars in general.
      Maybe Jeff will have additional insight on the subject . He too has spoken with former San Jose line employees.

I will have to check the MPC if the aluminum version is in the Ford MPC, but I will bet not.

Just for my own clarification, there was a RPO BW T10(H??) used in 65 & 66, just std iron case and gear ratios.
This is the only BW 4sp listed in the MPC for Galaxy, Fairlane, Mustang & Falcon.

Did all GT350 T10's come with high nickel Sebring gear sets?

       "Most of the NON SAI Mustang T-10s were wide ratio and they were used through '66. "Some" Kcode  Mustangs and Fairlanes had the close ratio T-10s. ALL SAI destined T-10s had the "Sebring" gears which had different 2nd and 3rd gear ratios only. 1st was still 2.36 like a "regular" close ratio T-10. Ford Service Manuals were written for Ford produced Mustangs , not SAI variants. Yes the T-10M is noted in the MPC with GT350 noted and S1MS part numbers. They were NOT in early MPCs only later versions after Ford "assumed" SAI manufacturing. The many period invoices to Ford dealers "in the day" From SAI for GT350 specific parts.
