Did Neil Peart (Rush drummer) own a Cobra...?

I've just come across this photo which was taken May 29, 2018, in SoCal and shows the late Rush drummer Neil Peart with his long-time drum kit setup man Lorne "Gump" Wheaton. As you can see, there's a lovely 289 Cobra in the background.

I know Peart was a rabid motorcycle fan, but am wondering whether he also owned a Cobra? If so, did Peart own an original CSX2000-series Cobra or a high-quality replica? If it's original, which CSX is it? Or does the Cobra belongs to Wheaton?

I've asked Wheaton via Twitter to confirm whose Cobra it is, but haven't gotten a response.

Grateful for any feedback from my fellow Shelby enthusiasts.

I'm not sure about the Cobra, but Peart had a number of cars, most were silver, Aston Martin, Jag XKE, '63 Corvette coupe & a

Maserati Ghibli, were ones I know of. He had a great collection of model cars as well.

He also had a Z8 and an earlier Miura.

Never knew about the Cobra tho.

Intensely private man.

Brian, Based on the location of the parking lights on your photo, I'd guess it's a replica.

Maybe, except I don't think they were building many replicas in '69. Possibly a legit car that had some front-end work? And the fact that it looks yellow is interesting, since Dennis Wilson used to drag race a yellow 289. Maybe a musical connection here?

Coolio......a P400 guy as well.

Do you know the colour and if it was in Canada or CA?

If I recall correctly it is yellow and mentioned in a Rolling Stone interview that took place in SoCal.

BTW this beautiful tribute was sent to me earlier today;

Have not followed that link, so possibly the same, but I found a nice bit on the history of Rush, lots of interview footage with the band members, on NetFlix.

Ned, Wrong photo ;) The one Brian posted was dated May 29. 2018. The yellow car was to show the correct placement of parking lights.

Cobra Ned

OK. I don't suppose that "yellow" car was 2321 in an earlier hue, right?

I am told that Neil Peart's car was CSX 2234, which he acquired from Andre Ahrle via Lynn Park back in 2016.

Yep, the mystery appears to be solved.  :)

His entire car collection was cars in Silver. He had amazing cars. A James Bond DB5 a Lamborghini Miura and more. All silver Except the Cobra which is Black. His collection went to auction a few months after his death.
