Given the selling price and no mention of a Shelby VIN # would indicate that it is a tribute/clone,replica etc.

SO 177 was originally a street car?

It would have a R in the VIN instead of a S if it was born as a competition model. Many 65 GT350's got transformed into competition cars by private owners. A fulled welded chassis as description says was done is great for racing would be next to impossible to make look like it hadn't been if trying to convert back to street trim.

Appears that the conversion to race status for 5S177 has been made only in the last 12 or so years.

98SVT - was 06GT

Under hood pic of first car - doesn't look like it has a SA VIN tag.

I tried to zoom in on Shelby VIN tag area and couldn't see where holes should be if a Shelby VIN tag were once present.

That air plenum under the hood wasn't even close to a consideration back when. That's what the spun aluminum carb dog dish was about.

There are a bunch of "tribute R's" that seem to be closer then some originals. This one isn't even in the ball park. It's just a customized Mustang that happens to resemble an R model (which isn't too hard to do)

I remember that the seller of 5S177, Michiel Smits asked a few questions on this forum when he had just bought it.
