What's the definition of a barn find? An old car actually found in a barn. Like this one. Sitting in that Barn since Richard Nixon was president. 1970.

I agree on the definition of barn find!

Interesting...that 1960 T-Bird was only ten years old when it went into the barn and never came out.

That's like a 2010 car being likewise entombed today. 

It would seem strange to do that to a 2010 car today, wouldn't it?  I wonder what that T-Bird's 1970 story was. 

In 1970, a '60 T-Bird was nothing special at all. Certainly not considered a future collectible. Probably worth $100 at the junkyard.

The owners father bought it new. In 1970, he was raising a family. He put it there and bought a station wagon. Apparently it was his first new car and just couldn't let it go. But, now that I've bought it, it will see the light of day again.

I get a huge smile every time I see a car pulled out of the dark confines of long term storage. They are still out there and a few of us LOOK for these creatures in every nook and cranny we can. Life has a way of letting things sit, My GT 500 car 1189 sat since 1971 and took a 47 year nap before it was able to burn the tires off of it again. The swinging 60s and 70s were a different time when sex, drugs, rock and roll, Vietnam and a multitude of other things were going on back then. I look at the term barn find could be just that, or garage find, down by the creek find, or out behind the shed find. It doesn't really matter but the sense of breathing life back into something that was long forgotten or neglected is very satisfying.
