Does anyone make a good reproduction set of the rubber Mustang pony floor mats? Looking for red ones. Are they all made from that awful Chinese rubber?

I use the ones that we handle in my own cars. I've never had a problem with them.

Those are the ones I put in my car and I'm pleased with them.

My '66 Coupe has a beautiful set from Brant at Virginia Mustang....my go to since 1986.

I just ordered a set this past Saturday after seeing this post! I gave up looking for an original set thinking the rubber would be hard and crumbly.

Yes, not worth looking for an original set.

Yes the repro mats are the way to go. The n.o.s. no matter how well kept just decompose

Is there an alternative domestically made product?

I too prefer to buy American when ever possible.

I really don't know who made the ones I bought but they had a sticky feeling to them. There were some white scuff marks on them and when I tried to rub them off with my finger the rubber just balled up and left a pink mark. I have a set in the car now that I bought 12+ years ago but they are getting pretty worn. I remember when I got them the rubber stank so bad I had to leave them outside for a week until it dissipated.

You could buy one from this guy  ;D

This is from the back cover of the November 1966 issue of Car Life.

Can't tell for sure, but it does look like Mustang running horse floor mats at the upper right.

I've experienced the opposite.  Repro floor mats I've used are softer than original mats and will wear out quicker over time.
